poor little rich bitch in the kitch

In honor of the Easter Holiday, tonight my little plrgs, we are going to make HEALTHY deviled eggs. Every plrg needs a specialty dish to bring to holiday dinner parties - and here is one that you can call your own (I promise I won't tell). Now bounce right into that kitch and get to it!

Ingredients (for 8 deviled eggs):
4 hard-boiled egg
4 teaspoon low-fat plain yogurt
4 teaspoon yellow mustard
4 tablespoon fresh chives, diced
Dash of salt and black pepper

Cooking Directions for HEALTHY Deviled Eggs:
Cut hard-boiled eggs in half and gently scoop yolks into bowl.
Mix yogurt, mustard, chives and salt/pepper with yolk.
Spoon yolk mixture back into egg white. Garnish with chive pieces.

Complimentary dish: Some rabbit food in honor of the bunny. Mix spinach with fresh strawberries, and almonds. Dress the salad with 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon sugar.

ENJOY! And just because of the holiday, go ahead - eat the chocolate ester bunny your Mom gave you. But don't think I will be that nice next week...

Possible good news?

Our ridiculously high rents may be negotiable! Tomorrow plrg's galpal and real estate expert is going to write in with some tips on lowering your rent for next year.

Think how many more hanky pankys you could buy with that extra $100 a month!!! Kidding. Kind of.

plrg crew

A la mean girls, we have decided, once again, to expand our crew. There are just soo many cool bitches lately that PLRG wants to hang out with. Here is our updated list:

Patti Stanger: Have you watched this woman? We want her to demand us to get a makeover and find us a millionaire asap. Preferably not one with a stripper pole in his apt, but she'd know our type. Her new book is $25 (we might have to wait for the soft cover to come out) but we're pretty sure it contains all the answers to every question in the universe.

Katy Perry: We wish we could look as good with that haircut. KT (as we like to call her) had a rockin' performance at Hiro last week and we think if we kissed her, we would really like it. Like really, really like it.

Bethenny and Jill: Still. And always and forever. Even though Bethenny fumbled and hooked up with A-Rod this weekend (who is a tool), we still support her. And we will always hate Kelly. Always.

It's been a long weekend ladies. I am soo ready for my poor little rich bitch in the kitch to make me dinner...

ciao from poor little rich bitch in the kitch

PUT DOWN that Dolce Vita menu plrg. Who do you think you are? Did you not go out to dinner twice this weekend? Hmm? Did you go out to brunch too? Do you think we didn't know that Top Shop opened and you definitely made an appearance? No worries, poor little rich bitch in the kitch is here to help. So put on you fav tunes, throw on you slippers, and get your ass in that kitch!

Whole wheat pasta with Pesto and pine nuts.
Ingredients:
Whole wheat pasta (linguini, fettachina, shells - your preference!)
Pesto
Olive oil
Pine nuts
Parmesean cheese

Cooking directions:
Bring a half pot of water to a boil and add pasta. While pasta is cooking bake the pine nuts in a frying pan till they are golden-brown. Set aside the pine nuts. Use the same frying pan and put in pesto sauce and a splash of olive oil. Stir frequently and let simmers. Once pasta is fully cooked pour into mixing bowl and add pine nuts and pesto mix. Grade parmesean cheese on top to your liking.

Great complimentary side: slice up a fresh whole wheat loaf of bread and place on cooking sheet. Heat oven to 300 degrees and place bread in oven for 5-8 minutes. check frequently and take it out when it begins to toast. Make a dipping mix for the toast of olive oil, salt and pepper.

Va Benne!

plrg bootcamp

Plrgs, we got our poor behinds KICKED this weekend. Once was because we thought we could sneak a small spree at Urban onto our parent's credit card (caught, so caught) and once was at Exhale in SoHo.

Now, don't get us wrong, plrgs canNOT afford to take $35 exercise classes. Under ANY circumstances. So allow us to justify.

This core fusion class is nuts. Like... plrg and her bffs couldn't walk up the subway stairs nuts. Like... I'm taking a cab home from work today nuts.

Now, personal trainers in NYC are crazy expensive. So we feel like this is the cheapest way to get a full body workout without having a trainer. Also, they have a $150 deal where you can take unlimited classes for 30 days. So if we went twice a week, it would be worth it!

Ok ok, we're done justifying our indulgences of this weekend. As soon as we regain our strength, our friend and poor little rich bitch in the kitch will slap some sense into you with this week's recipe!

oo la la!

Bonjour mes cheries! A brief hump day pick-me-up. We found a fab apt rental (and others like it) on homeaway.com, which has great vacation deals which even the poorest little rich girl can afford (with a few extra hours of overtime). This tres chic little apartment in the 18th Arrondissement in Paris sleeps four comfortably and is in a great location. For $1,250 for the week, grab your best 4 or 5 girlfriends and say au revoir rainy NYC and heeelllllooooo cute frenchmen. And chocolate croissants. And the Musee D'orsee. And that guy you met when you were backpacking with your high school friends through Europe at that bar next to the Seine with the really cute... ok. Maybe that was just us.

We've found from studying abroad that renting apartments is a way cheaper route to go than the standard hotel, and you can often get good deals in great central locations. We'd suggest trying to find some when visiting Prague, Barcelona, Amsterdam, among a few others! Have any more plrg travel tips? Write in and let us know!

Bon Voyage, plrg! (we wonder what they'd call us in France!)
